Our 4th of July BBQ

To celebrate the 4th of July we were lucky enough to host a BBQ at our house for some of our friends and their kids. We set up our kiddy pool in the backyard and a bigger slip-n-slide for the older kids. And watching the kids play was great. Connor definatley is a water baby and requires ALOT of full-time attention while in the pool because sitting still and just hanging out is not Connor's style at all. As I am sure anyone who has ever been around Connor knows. All of the pictures below were either taken by me or by my friend Sky. Thanks Sky! I hope yall like them. (And FYI, there were a TON of pictures taken, so I had a hard time determining which ones were the best to post!)

After the swimming pool funtime was over Connor went down for his afternoon nap and the rest of the party enjoyed hanging out and eating some of Dave's good cooking. We did not serve anything fancy but the great company definately was the highlight of the meal. The final portion of the evening was the fireworks. Dave and I tried hard this year to pick out fireworks that were not loud. Bright and colorful...Yes. Loud....No. We did not want to scare any of the small children that would be at the house doing fireworks with us. But Connor did GREAT with the fireworks. On his first 4th of July he slept through all of the fireworks but this year he thought they were great. Abby and Jacob did great with the sparklers and they were a big help to Dave in picking out which big fireworks to light off and where to set them up in the street.
