The Trip Home to Utah

We started the trip home to Utah by saying goodbye to everyone (who was still at my Dad's house) and.....taking pictures! (who would have guessed it?)
Here are pictures of Connor in his Beastie Boys onesie that his Cool Aunt Melissa bought for him for Christmas. Connor received alot of compliments for his shirt. Thanks Aunt Mel!

On the way home, we were delayed a little over 3 hours in the Midland Airport. So Connor just played alot there and luckily we packed alot of food and toys to keep him entertained. Because, as anyone who has every traveled in or out of the Midland Airport can tell you, there is NOTHING to do in that Airport! But Connor was so great. He really traveled like a pro!

Connor hanging out on the Plane. This is his Third Vacation where he had to travel by plane. And you would think at 8 months old he was a pro at it! Everyone on the plane complimented how sweet and quiet he was. We really are lucky to have such a sweet and even tempered child!

The night before we left there was some time where everyone was gone from my Dad's house and Connor was able to spend some time with just his Grandma and Grandpa Nelson. Here he is below just hanging out in a chair with Grandma Debbie. Which is a miracle, because Connor never just sits still. He is ALWAYS moving.

The day after Christmas Connor was lucky enough to spend quality time with his Nana (my mother, Louise) and his Great-Grandma Birdie (my maternal grandmother). Connor really loved his time with them! He was tired and somewhat cranky, but he really smiled and laughed alot when he was with either of them. I hope you enjoy the pictures that he took with them. Christmas Day

Christmas Day in our house is very mild. Since we open all the gifts the night before, we do the family dinner on Christmas Day. And since there were extra people at the dinner this year, we had two tables for once. I would say there was an "adult table" and a "kids table" but well.....that really is not how it was. There was just two tables in the same room.
Connor slept through the Christmas dinner, the same way he slept through his first Thanksgiving dinner. But since he could not eat the same food anyways, I dont think he felt like he was missing out. The only thing missing for Dave and I was his family too. We would love to have been with both of our families on this holiday. But unfortunately they live across the country from eachother. But we are hoping one day we will get to do that.

This year Dave, Connor and I spent Christmas in Midland, TX with my family. It was a great time! My Dad, my stepmom, my siblings, and my paternal grandparents were all there on Christmas eve to open gifts and celebrate the holiday together. And since this year was Connor's very first Christmas it was extra special for me and Dave. It was so great watching him open his gifts and play with the drum set that Great-Grandpa James picked out for him! He love them! Experiencing Christmas with him trully was better than any gift I have ever gotten. I hope that yall enjoy the pictures below.

The Nutcracker Ballet

On Saturday (12/20) Dave and I had a great date night. We went to see the Nutcracker Ballet at the Capitol Theatre in Salt Lake City. It was fantastic! The ballet was so good and the dancers were incredible. And even though I know that seeing a ballet is not Dave's idea of a great Saturday night, he seemed to be having fun for my sake. Christmas 2008 Part 1

On Friday December 12, we took Connor to pick out his very first Christmas tree. He seemed to love the experience. We would walk him up to a tree and let him feel the branches and he would giggle so loud every time!! It was so cute to watch. I loved being able to experience that with him.

As you can see in the picture above, we have already decorated the tree minus a few decorations that we are going to let Abby and Jacob put up on the tree when they get here on December 28. The main addition to our Christmas decorations this year is the beautiful white plastic babygates around the tree. You know you are jealous and want them too!! We have found them to be very helpful in keeping Connor from the tree. Cause it is all too clear that he is fascinated with the tree. And I cant blame him. I love the tree too!

We will be in Midland this year for Christmas and will be back in Utah on the 27th so we can spend the entire week after Christmas with the kids here. I will post more pictures as they are taken. So I am sure there will be multiple posts about this Christmas season. Hope yall enjoy it and have a very Merry Christmas too!!!

8 Months

I know I have been a little bad lately about not posting. So here is the posting for Connor's 8 month Update. Connor is doing great. Today he actually started crawling while on his hands. Up till now he has been crawling military style everywhere. And last night Connor decided it was the day to go up the stairs too. So that is one more skill that he has mastered now. He really is an active handful! He pulls himself up on everything and is walking along the edges of all the furniture he can. It is alot of fun to watch but not so much fun to baby proof for. Below are some pictures that we took on December 7 outside. It was a beautiful day and Connor really enjoyed being outside with the dogs. Dave and I were just trying to take full advantage of one of the last few beautiful days that we had here. Now it is ALL snow. Snow, snow, snow and more snow. But oh well....winter had to come sometime! Below are some pictures I took of him tonight. I think he is looking cute as can be, but what can I say.....I am his Mom! And from the video below you can see how well he is able to pull himself up now and why we have all the cabinets babyproofed! I hope yall enjoy!

Our Family Portraits

While the kids were here for Thanksgiving, we had some family portraits taken. The motivation was mainly that I wanted a family picture to have on our Christmas card. My friend Amberlyn Coulson was kind enough to take the pictures of us and she did a great job!! Especially considering she was working with two small kids who really DO NOT like having their picture taken and one infant who HATES to sit still for anything!

Connor is a very vocal child. And I think this was the point where he was trying to get his point across that he was done sitting still! But much to his dismay....all he did was give me a picture that I love!
