Swim time at Roy Aquatic

I have to admit that I really do miss having a pool in our backyard but atleast here in Utah there are some amazing community pools for us to enjoy. This was our trip to the Roy Aquatic Center. We had a great time!! The boys were a little rusty on their swimming skills since this was our first time swimming this year but they picked their skills back up eventually.

Hiking Antelope Island

This summer we are trying hard to enjoy the entire summer while Abby and Jacob are with us. One of the things we love doing together as a family is hiking. These are some of the pictures I took while we were hiking Antelope Island in the Great Salt Lake.

The kids with Dave. He is a great leader on our hikes. I always am in the back so I can see all the kids and have the warm fuzzy feeling that everything is going good.

Preston hiking with his dinosaur and saying "Hi Mom!"
Connor holding up the rock. He is "super strong"!!
Connor loves his big brother a lot!!

This picture is CLASSIC Preston. He is running away doing his own thing. You have to love a kid that is so independent he is CONSTANTLY walking away and getting lost.
I am scared of heights and was not real pleased that Dave took the kids up on this rock. But they loved it and I guess I have to learn to trust Dave a little more.
My picture with the kids. The boys were showing off their super cool ninja moves.
The long hike up.
At the top of the trail. The views were amazing!!
Proof that I made it to the top!! Even though I was terrified to look down.
One of the many Auh-maz-ing views from the hike!

Connor's trip to the Emergency Room

Connor is the type of kid who loves to push the limits of physics with everything that he does. He loves to climb on everything (Everything!) and go as fast as he can no matter how many times I tell him to slow down and be safe. On our trip to the Dinosaur park today he trip to beat gravity and well....gravity won. He fell down backwards and busted his head open on a rock. The staff at the Dinosaur Park were amazing and performed first aid but were unable to get the bleeding to stop so we had to go to the emergency room. Luckily he just had a "deep abrasion" and it was so skinny that it did not need stitches, to the surprise of everyone. At the end of it all we just had to keep a bandage strapped to his head for two days and he had to be on bed rest for one day. Which by the way is very, very, very difficult for that kid!

The dinosaur was about to eat them!! Scary faces!!
The boys are screaming "GO AWAY!!" at the dinosaur. Oddly enough....about 1 minute after this picture was taken Connor hit the back of his head on a rock and busted it open.
In the car after the trip to the ER. He is showing off some of the goodies the Dinosaur Park staff gave him to try and calm him down while they were administering first aid.

The second night Connor had to wear his bandage he was so happy that his blue bandage made him look like the blue Ninja Turtle, Leonardo. Preston and Connor were practicing their ninja skills in the hallway before bedtime so I HAD to get some pictures of it.

He is such a happy little man considering he has a head wound.
