First Trackday with Daddy!

Today was Connor's first trackday with his Dad. Connor slept through the entire time but I know someday he will love motorcycles just as much as his dad does.

A visit with Relatives

This afternoon my Dad's cousins Wes, Kristen, and their 3 year old son Sam came over to the house to meet Connor and see my dad and stepmom. Wes and Kristen are really great people and it is nice to know we have a few relatives that live close by. Their son Sam is the cutest little kid you can imagine and he had a great time playing with some of Jacob's toys while the grownups sat around and caught up with eachother. At the end I was able to get everyone into one group picture and it turned out great.

First Day Home

Some pictures from Connor's first day home from the hospital. It is so amazing to have him home and to have our new life as a family starting.

It's A Boy!

We would like to introduce you to the newest member of our family.

Name: Connor James Anderson
Birthdate: April 9, 2008
Time: 9:31 AM
Weight: 7 lb 9 oz
Length: 22 inches

Tuesday night, Grandma Debbie flew into Salt Lake City to make sure that she was there in time for the delivery. Since I had been walking around dialated to 3cm for two weeks, Connor had dropped and I was starting to nest, we knew that he was going to arrive any minute. That entire night I felt alot of pressure but did not think I was in labor since there was no pain coming and going, just a constant pressure. At 4:30am, I felt the first contraction while getting ready for work. At 4:33am I felt the second contraction. At this time I still did not think I was in labor so I told Dave to go ahead and go to work since I was sure the hospital would send me home after being checked out. Debbie drove me to the hospital but while driving there it became apparent that this labor was not false and the baby was coming. So Dave got called to come to the hospital to meet me there and welcome his son to the world.
During my labor my epidural did not work and so I delivered Connor with very little medication for my pain. I highly do not recommend this. Connor also became stuck while coming out and eventually the doctor had to use a vaccuum on his head to get him out. The vaccuum popping off two times during the attempt to get him out which lead to Connor getting a mild case of jaundice from the bruising on the top of his head. It was not the way I had envisioned my labor or hoped it would go but when they placed my sweet little boy on my chest it was amazing. He was perfect and wonderful and I knew I would love him forever.
During the labor Dave was amazing. He held my hand and helped me during the delivery. He spoke the sweetest words and told me everything I needed to hear. I could not have asked for a better coach and partner during the delivery. My stepmom Debbie was also in the room during Connor's delivery. She was a very calming presence and really helped leading up to the actual delivery since she was able to read the charts and tell me what was going on with my contractions and the baby. Considering this was my first time, it was nice having someone in the room that knew what was going on and had my best intrest at heart.
