Just some cute pictures I took of Connor and Preston playing together. I know I am blessed with two boys that seem to really love each other and enjoy each other's company. Preston is honestly at his happiest when he is playing with Connor. And Connor is constantly talking to or talking about Preston. It is pretty cute.

Preston and Connor get a visit from their Great-Great Aunt and Uncle
This evening my Great-Aunt Janie and Great-Uncle Larry came to see us and to meet the newest addition to the family, Preston. It is really nice that we get to see them as often as we do (which is not often enough by any means) since they are the only family we have in this part of the U.S. Plus they are just plain nice people. Dave and I are really looking forward to going to Montana to see them as soon as we can get our act together and get out there. Hopefully it will be soon.

Preston's 1/2 Year Birthday
Holy Cow! How did a whole 1/2 year go by already?? Well Preston is doing great at 6 months. We took him to the doctor for his check up and he has hit all of his milestones and then some. He is 18lb 10oz (70th percentile) and 27 in (70th percentile).
Preston has 6 teeth(!), is rolling over, is sitting up for short periods of time and is very alert. He knows his name and responds to it when spoken to. He loves to hear Mom and Dad's voices in the other room and even responds to them when he is in a good mood.
We are still not sleeping through the night consistently but he is down to once a night at most. And the duration of the time he is up at night is down, so it is making it less miserable for Mom and Dad. Here are his 6 month pictures with the giraffe. I honestly had so many adorable pictures from this 'photoshoot' that I had a really hard time only posting these few.

The "Sharing" of Blankets
Anyone who knows Connor knows that he loves "green blanket". And green blanket must go everywhere with him and Connor will not go to sleep without it. So, as you can imagine, on the rare occasion Connor allows Preston to use green blanket it is a total shock because more often than not the scenario is.....
Connor has green blanket.
Preston tries to take green blanket from Connor.
Connor takes green blanket back.
Preston cries.
Preston gets his own blanket. Either Connor will go get a new blanket for Preston to use or Dave or I will go get it.
Preston continues to try and steal green blanket while continuing to using his own blanket.
Connor stops Preston and keeps possession of green blanket once and for all.

Preston's First Solid Food
Mmmmmm.....Rice Cereal! Today Preston started eating solids and he did great! I was very impressed with the kid. He seemed to really like the food and being a big boy, for the short time he was willing to sit still. I hope you like some of the pictures I took while Dad was feeding Preston.
The very first bite.
Because Connor was being so good that morning, we decided to make him Chocolate Chip Pancakes for breakfast. Can you tell he likes them?

Footprints in the Snow
This morning it snowed a couple of inches and when Dave was loading up the boys into the truck I noticed that Connor was following his Dad around doing everything from loading Preston into the car to watching Dad brush the snow off the truck's windows. When I looked at the snow in the driveway I saw a perfect set of footprints from Dave and Connor. Side by Side. It is so amazing to me that such a little boy will someday have feet as large as his Dad's. But it also reminded me of the poem "Footprints in the Sand" because it is so true that Dave will walk beside Connor every step of his life but when Connor needs to be carried Dave will be there to carry him.

Happy Birthday
Today is my birthday and also Abigail's 9th birthday. Even though we are not able to spend her actual birthday with her, Dave was lucky enough to get to spend the weekend before with her and take her out to a special birthday dinner. We are looking forward to her next trip here for Spring Break when we can have some cake and celebrate another year in her amazing life.
Also, one year ago today Connor started walking further than his one or two steps. It is so amazing for me to think that in just one year my little boy had grown from taking his first steps to now running, jumping, dancing, and climbing on everything known to man. He is so adventerous and curious that it does get him into trouble but I have a hard time staying mad at him for just wanting to push his boundaries and do more.

Mommy Time With Her Two Favorite Boys
This week I spent two days home with the boys because their nanny had strep-throat. It was a nice change in the schedule and I really loved having a couple of days home with them. We did not do too much special but I took a couple of pictures of the boys just to document how cute they were being.
Also, while Dave was in Louisianna seeing Abby and Jacob I was blessed with a few more days of just hanging out with my two favorite little boys. Connor did not do too well with Dave's absence and I think if Connor has his way Dave will never leave Connor's sight ever again. But either way, the three of us made it through the weekend and we are all still doing great.

Jacob's Soapbox Derby
This weekend, Dave went to Louisianna to join Jacob at his Cub Scout Troop's Pinewood Derby. Jacob's older brother Christopher helped him build his racing car, plus an additional car just for fun. Dave said that Jacob did great. He did not win it all but he placed in about the middle of the pack. Dave had a great weekend with the kids and he is looking forward to their next visit.
Jacob's two cars. The blue one is his official racing car and the red one was the one Christopher built just for fun. I think that Christopher and Jacob did a great job on the cars. They received many compliments!
Jacob placing his car on the track for one of his races.
The video is of one of Jacob's races. He is in the lane closest to the camera and comes in Second Place.

Preston in his "new" bouncer
Since Preston has become so big and so good at holding his head up and sitting up and just plain being in somewhat control of what he does, we decided to bring Connor's old bouncer out of the basement and give Preston a try in it. As it turns out, Preston LOVES it. He actually did alot better his first time in the bouncer than Connor did. He did not get overwhelmed by all the toys and seemed to love being able to bounce whenever he wanted. I had to take a little video and some pictures of him on his first try since he was doing so well and looked so cute. As an added bonus, Connor has rediscovered his love for playing with the toys on the bouncer. He is too big for the bouncer portion of it but he loves to stand on the outside and play with the toys. Guess you can say this toys has now had two lives in our house and was a great value for the money.

Sitting Up Like A Big Boy
Preston is getting better and better at sitting up like a big boy so today I took some pictures of him. I do think he is beyond cute and amazingly talented, but I am his Mom. I am allowed to be totally biased towards my kids.

Playtime inside the Spongebob Squarepants Tent......Yes we have one!
Here are a couple of pictures of Connor playing with Dad in the living room in his SpongeBob SquarePants play tent. This tent is pretty small and Dave BARELY fits into it. But since it makes Connor so happy to have Dad in there with him, Dave manages to find a way to fit.

Rollin' Rollin' Rollin'.......Preston is a Rollin'
On December 15, 09 Preston started rolling over from his stomach to his back unassisted. As you can imagine, Dave and I were pretty excited! He also started getting about 3/4 of the way from his back to his stomach. It took a while for him to learn how to roll from his back to his stomach but on January 26, 10 he finally did it! And once he did it, he did it mulitple times. He is funny though, he will only roll over when he thinks no one is looking. If he thinks someone is looking and is entertained by that, then he really is not interested in rolling over. So it took me a while to capture him rolling over on video. But I do hope that you like the video.
