Preston's New Ball

During Dave's return trip to UT to pack up all of our belongings, I took the boys to Target to let them burn off energy. While there Preston found this ball and would not let it go. And since it was only $1.00, I figured I would buy it and make the poor kid happy. As you can see, he loved the ball so much that he would not let it go even in his sleep.

The Kemah Boardwalk

Today we took the boys to the Kemah Boardwalk. Since we are so new to the area we wanted to show the boys the coast. And what better way to introduce them than at a boardwalk with games and rides?

Connor and Preston loved watching all the boats going by.

The sun was shinning brightly into our eyes, but the boys loved sitting next to a big shark.

Our ride on the small train that takes you all over the boarwalk. That was the boys' favorite part. Preston kept saying "choo choo" over and over.

Each year I look back and think
"Wow, we did alot this year!!"
and then I think
"Wow, how did we survive this year?!?"
2010 was another year of change for the Anderson family. And as I look back on this year of uncertainty and change, I realize that we made it through the year a stronger and closer family.
The start of 2010 was great! We had 4 healthy, beautiful children that we were watching grow up. Connor turned 2 in April and Preston turned 1 in August. We were able to spend time with Abigail and Jacob and see our family unit really become whole.
The middle of the year was our turning point. As you know from previous posts, Dave was laid off in July. And for the next 5 months he was an amazing stay at home dad who was also very busy with his job hunt. During those 5 months, we had amazing support from friends, neighbors, and nannies to help us manage Dave's phone interviews and extensive travel for the onsite interviews. In the end Dave was blessed with multiple job offers (because he is amazing!) and we were able to make the best decision for our family. Which is what lead us here to Houston.
As I say every year in my New Years Post, I hope that this year is a year of maturing what we have and not changing it. The last 4 years have been very busy for our family. We have had 2 cross-country moves, 2 houses to sell, 2 houses to buy, 2 babies born, 1 wedding, and 2 new jobs each for Dave and I.
I hope that 2011 is our best year yet and I look forward to all it will bring.
