Abby and Jacob's Hiking and Nature Class

This week the kids took a Hiking and Nature Class at Evergreen Montessori Academy. They had a great time and came home with some great stories about their hikes and their class. We definitely recommend the class for any kid! Below is a picture the school sent us of the class on one of their hikes. Can you imagine a better place than Utah for a kid to take a hiking class?

10 months old!!

Preston is 10 months old today and this last month has been full of accomplishments. He got a new tooth on the bottom row. That makes 8 total now. He is crawling so quickly now and even crawling up the stairs (which scares me to death since he has fallen down them more than once). He is also walking along the furniture and getting better at walking between pieces of furniture that are getting further and further apart. Lastly, he is talking up a storm now. He loves to say MaMa and DaDa (not to Dave or I, but just in general) and mimic anything Connor is doing. Which is funny since Connor loves to mimic anything Preston is doing. And all of that is great until dinner time when they compete to see who can scream the loudest! But the BIGGEST accomplishment of this last month (it starts on June 19th) is Preston sleeping through the night!! We finally broke down and did the scream-it-out method and he finally figured out that it was ok to not eat at 2am every night! I am so thankful that he is sleeping now cause Mom and Dad really needed to sleep.
The only area now that we are working on is food. He LOVES food that is in a jar. Anything that is in a jar but if you try to give him something to chew he is pissed! We have tried alot to get him to try self feeding and eating solids but so far, nothing has worked. But we will keep trying and taking the suggestions people give us. But since he is big, healthy and active....we are not too concerned.

Father's Day - 2010

Today we celebrate Dave and the wonderful Father that he is. I could not have picked a better man to raise children with. The boys idolize him in all that he does and all that he is. And he is a great model for the type of man Abby should know exists and hopefully someday end up with. Here are some pictures of how we celebrated Dave's day.

The kids had a great time making homemade chocolate chip cookies for Dave with Traci on Thursday. They talked about how much fun they had making cookies from scratch all weekend long. And in addition to the required Father's Day, the kids painted a picture for Dave. Each kid painted a side of the frame. And as you can see below, they did a great job! Dave's desk will have the best looking picture frame on it.

Park City - Utah Olympic Park

We took the kids to see the Utah Olympic Park in Park City today. The kids had a great time and were pretty well behaved for the whole trip. And after watching the younger kids do the ski jumping into the pool, Jacob decided that he wanted to try doing that too. So we are going to look into getting him a ski jumping lesson this summer.

Brittany's Going Away Party

Yet another friend is moving away. My friend Brittany is moving to San Antonio, so we got together to make sure she had a great going away dinner. Here are the pictures from that night. She is a great girl and she will be missed! But atleast I know I have one more cool person to call and hangout with when I visit San Antonio.

The Air Force Museum with Ms. Traci

Today is the first day that Traci had all four kids this summer. She took them to the Air Force Museum and said that all four kids did so great! And she was nice enough to take a few pictures of the kids so that Dave and I could see all the fun they were having.

Our four cute kids

Traci and the kids. Preston was being good in the stroller.

Since there was no one else really at the museum, Traci said the museum staff allowed her and the kids to go into some of the planes. So exciting!

The kids love the huge planes!! And this one looks just like "big bad jet" from The Little Einsteins. And everytime I have Connor in the car and we drive by the museum, he reminds me of that.

Splish Splash....It's Water Time!

Connor LOVES water. Connor loves water to the point that he is constantly playing in the water running down our gutters when the neighbors water their lawn and flood the street. So we figured it was time to get him some water toys that he can play with in the backyard that were also safe for Preston. As you can tell, they boys love playing in the water together. They are too cute to watch.

Cute brothers.

Connor learned how make the water squirt up by stepping on it.

Walking the Canyon with Mommy

Since it is swimsuit season I have been trying hard to get out and get walking alot with the boys so I can loose some of the few remaining 2nd pregnancy pounds that have just stuck around. Man, the women who told me "the weight is so much easier to loose after the first baby!" were so right!! So I took the boys walking the trail behind our house today and it was alot of fun. I think next time I will have Dave with me though so that Connor can have more support when going up the steeper hills.

Is he not the cutest kid ever?

Jamie's Going Away Dinner

Jamie's going away dinner was at The Oaks Restaurant in Ogden Canyon and beside the very slow service we got that night, the restaurant was great. Good food and beautiful, relaxing atmosphere. Here are some pictures of the girls that went to dinner to wish Jamie well and say good-bye.

Loving the Side by Side Stroller

We have a side by side and a tandum stroller for when we are walking with both of the boys. They love the side by side cause they can see eachother and play a little. I just thought they looked so cute and so grown up sitting next to eachother today on the walk home from the park.

Definately Brothers!!

They might not look identical but they are definately brothers.

A Playdate with Friends

My friend Jamie is moving back to Boise (TEAR!) so we have been having them over lately so that we can spend time together before the move. Here are some cute pictures of the kids playing together and talking a walk around the neighborhood together on the bikes. Note: It is amazingly difficult to get 4 kids in one picture which is why you will not see one. Next time I will have to try harder.
