Fun time with Cassie

The kids have been spending the summer being watched by their nanny Ms. Cassie. And Cassie has been doing a great job at keeping them entertained and happy. (In addition to the requirement of safe and healthy). Cassie has taken them to the Children's Museum in Salt Lake City and last week she took them to the Treehouse Museum in Ogden, UT with three of her little sisters. She was kind enough to take some cute pictures of the kids for us so we could see the fun they were having. I hope you enjoy the pictures. I think they are adorable, but then again....they are my kids.

Mom's Group BBQ

On Saturday Dave and I took the kids to my Mom's Group BBQ at a park in Layton. It was a great BBQ that had a really large turnout. The women that are apart of the group and their families are all really nice and it is great to have some other kids that our kids could play with. The BBQ would have been even better though it if had not been COLD and RAINY. It seems so odd that it would be cold and rainy on June 20th but it was. That is why we are all in coates in the pictures. I hope you like the few pictures I stole from one of the other moms who actually did take pictures unlike me. (Saddly, I even had a camera in the diaper bag. It just never made it out)

28 weeks and 1 day. Third Trimeseter Here We Come!!

I am entering into my last trimeseter (ever!) and am doing pretty darn good. The baby's heartrate is still in the 155 range, and he is kicking like crazy. Just like Connor did at this time in my pregnancy with him. I am doing good as well. I am trying hard to stay active, which is not too hard when you work full time and have three kids at home. (Who would have thought?) And I have tried to stay healthy with my diet and such. But I think the effort is paying off. I have only gained about 22 pounds so far, so I am hoping I will only gain about 38 pounds total like I did with Connor. My bloodpressure and everything else is looking great too, according to the doctor. And as far as we know right now, we are still on schedule with a due date of September 12, 2009. But knowing my kid, he will be impatient like his mother and his brother and come earlier than expected. I hope you like the picture Dave took of me on Father's Day. The belly is definately getting bigger! By the way....do you like our new patio doors in the background?? We were excited about getting those installed.

Happy Father's Day to My Wonderful Husband

Today is Father's Day and it really makes me take a moment and realize what a wonderful Father Dave is. I do not think I could have possibly picked a better man for a husband, a partner, and a father for my children. He really has made being a wife and a mother easier for me because I know I always have him to depend on and have fun with. I try to tell him "Thank you" every day for being the great man that he is. But today especially he deserves the recognition.

For Father's Day Dave was able to do a few activities that made him pretty happy (atleast I hope they made him happy). On Saturday, Dave bought a 4-wheeler for Abigail to ride. He wanted her to have a 4-wheeler so that she could go ride the dirt trails with him and Jacob. On Sunday morning, Dave got Abby out on the 4-wheeler and let her ride is around the neighborhood (with very close supervision). She is getting better with each time she rides it so that is good to see. She is still pretty timid on it, but I am sure that will go away some when she is on a trail and not on a road. Dave even got Connor on the 4-wheeler with him and Connor loved it! He only got to ride with Dave for about 30 feet, but that was enough for Connor. Now every time Connor goes into the garage, he walks over to either the dirtbike or the 4-wheeler and tries to climb on while saying "vroom vroom" over and over again. I know when he is able to talk in full sentences he will be asking to ride them alot! But we are a few years away from letting him actually ride them without one of us driving. Also today we went to Snowbasin again for a Father's Day BBQ. The food was really good and the kids seemed to really enjoy "eating lunch on top of a mountain". So that made the day a little more special and fun for us. I took some pictures while we were there of Dave and his kids. I hope yall like them!

This summer, Dave has been helping the kids with their homework each week and has really enjoyed sharing in that part of their lives since he does not get to do that during their normal school year. And lately Connor has been crawling onto the couch and pointing to the computer screen whenever someone is on the computer. I think Connor just wants to point out to Dave that he is better at Solitare than Dave is! Hope you like some of the random shots I took recently.

An Overdue Update About Us

Well it has been a while since the last blog so I figured it was necessary to post another update on what is going on in the Anderson household. There has been ALOT going on, so here goes.....

On Friday May 29th, Dave and his motorcycle group headed off to Yellowstone National Park for a weekend ride. The weather was nice, the snow on the ground was finally melting and Dave really enjoyed the ride with his friends. Dave was even kind enough to take some pictures of the park and of Old Faithful so that I could see them when he got home. The only bad part of the trip was when Dave's motorcycle broke down on the way home and it had to be brought back in the trailer.



On Satruday May 30th, Connor and I picked up Abby and Jacob from the airport for their summer vacation with us. That night and on Sunday I was at the house with all three kids alone. Which I know sounds like no big deal.....but it was for me. Being pregnant really is making things harder. (Who would have thought?) On Sunday I hung out in the front yard with the kids and just played. And Abby decided that she was finally (yes, finally) ready to ride a bike without training wheels. So off the training wheels came and off she went down the road. It was like she had been doing it for years and no one ever knew. She practiced all afternoon so that she could show Dad her new riding skills when he got home that night. He was so proud of her.

The next morning Dave and I headed off to the airport so that I could fly to Mississippi for two weeks of work. It was a long and exhausting trip that took alot out of me, but it was great work that I am glad I was invited to do. I learned alot about reliability and Chevron which will help me do my job better in the future. While I was gone Dave did a great job taking care of the three kids by himself. I know alot of Dads would struggle with that task for two whole weeks but he really did great. While I was away Dave took the two pictures of Jacob learning to ride his new dirtbike and of Abby riding her bike without training wheels. He was so proud of both of them.

Abby and Jacob started their reading classes at Weber State University the first week I was gone and Dave went with each of them to their first class. And as it turns out, that was a good thing. Both Abby and Jacob tested out of the class they were supposed to be in according to their grade and actually were placed in a grade above. Dave was so proud of his two kids and how smart they are. (And yes, I am bragging a little here too). And Connor, well Connor became a challenge for Dave while I was gone. He has mastered the fine art of climbing on the couch, the coffee table and the window seats in the living room. But the smart little thing that he is, also has somewhat mastered the way to get down from them too. He gets on his bottom and scoots to the edge and then jumps to the ground. He really is getting it down well. You can see some of the comical pictures I took of the kid while he was getting onto the window seat on Sunday. It made me laugh watching him and his determination to get up there.




Also while I was gone Dave took all three kids to the Hill Airforce Base Airshow. So as you can only imagine this picture.....Dave with three kids, three lawn chairs, a stroller, a diaper bag, and a cooler with food and drinks for the kids. He must have made a sight to see being such a pack mule. But he did great. All the kids enjoyed the show and no one got lost or hurt. That is success in my opinion. Unfortunatley Dave took no pictures when he was at the event. He forgot to pack the camera. Oh well. That same day though, I went to the Pensacola Naval Air Museum with a coworker of mine named Zu. We had a great time and it was a good way to blow off a little steam on our one day off. We drove back to our hotel in Mobile along the coast and even took the ferry ride to Dauphin Island. It was really nice and the ferry ride was relaxing. The pictures below are from that. (I did not forget my camera that day, unlike Dave).




On Friday June 12th, I finally got home that night and was able to see my family again. It was great to to get to spend some time with them even if it was their bedtime as soon as we got home. I did miss them alot.

On Saturday, Dave and I took all of the kids on a bike ride along the Legacy Parkway Trail. It is a great (mostly flat) bike trail that has alot of great landscaping to look at and is easy enough for all of our kids. Dave had Connor in the bike trailer and he really loved it. The ride would have been 100% great if we had not gotten caught at the very end in a VERY heavy thunderstorm. It was crazy. The rain was coming down so hard it felt like hail hitting you. But the kids were troopers and we were all able to laugh about the experience. And we will try the trail again soon on a sunnier day. The rest of this weekend Dave and I just spent trying to recouperate from my trip. The trip required really long working hours for me and I am completely and totally wipped out physically. So as you can imagine, I was not up for alot. Dave also was trying to recouperate and get the house back into working condition. I think he was just plain grateful to have a second pair of hands to help out again around the house.


Well that is all that has been going on with us for the past two weeks. It has been alot and well....it has left no time for actually writing about it. But now our house has calmed down and we are all in one place. So there is time to write down some of the memories we are making.
